Overview

The British School of Creative Arts & Technology (EBAC) is the leading online educational institution offering postgraduate and specialist programs in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire, one of the UK’s most renowned educational institutions.

The Challenge

We had to identify a way to help NGOs get tutors for their PET. This led to the processes of product (PetSmile) discovery, CSD Matrix, UX Research, Blueprint Service, Wireframe, Design system, and prototype. As part of the questioning process, I identified that some pets were more difficult to adopt: older pets, those with dark hair, and those with disabilities. This was due to the ease of acceptance in the form of preconceptions and the lack of information from the guardian about the possibilities and advantages of adopting an adult or disabled pet.

Conclusion

I am committed to developing a project that taps into our capacity for empathy and sharing the experience of the guardian and their pet with new guardians. PetSmile is a social network for tutors to share their experiences, which will also be used by the NGO to monitor the pet so that the bond between the NGO and the PET doesn’t end when it is adopted. This model builds cases for the NGO and disseminates information to new tutors.
